Great article! I also agree that Bush thought with instinctive intuition. He thinks with his gut. I hear that ancient Egyptians believed we thought within out gut area and discarded the brain when mummifying. I actually spoke to a republican who believes that your gut is responsible for some thought! Even after pointing out the impossibility of this he refused to change his belief. I hear republicans complain that liberals over-think everything. Republicans seem to support issues with only shallow thought processes.
Republicans seem very black and white also. Notice when people use the word 'absolutely' frequently. I find they are typically republican. Though not a scientific study.

Nice review Mr. Shermer, when I was in collage (30 years ago), a philosophy professor dwelt alot on intution.

As for the black/white debate, look at FBI crime statistics . . . especially compare race of victims to perpetrators in the catagory of rape. David Duke will tell U that the media covers up race in crime reports.

Is Bush's "gut reaction" intuition?

I remember asking the prof. if intuition can be wrong.

Hope to see U again at this years conference on God.
