Lets just hope libertarians never come into power in this country,as they would have all of our agencies that try and prevent these snake oil sellsmen from gaining to much ground,be taken out of goverments hands. This has proved to not have worked in the private sectors hands of control in the libertarians view of 'free enterprise' as a self correcting agency.

So... claims of the dead rising huh? Is the revival link supposed to your point or Shermer's? And you do realize that this is a book review about a pretty specific period in history.

There are currently claims of people being raised from the dead

THREE MORE RAISED FROM THE DEAD THIS WEEK!!!
Stephen Strader

I have not noticed this being discussed.

One case - this is fourth hand - possibly involves a child who died but was kept on life support awaiting operation to remove organs and woke up.

Michael, have you looked into autism epidemiology in detail? While I am not an expert, there seems to be too much controversy over the methodologies and assumptions in the studies to sweep the anecdotal evidence under the rug wholesale. Just for instance, I'd be curious what you would say about this study that I take issue with:

Thimerisol isn't the only potential culprit being argued about. There may be an issue with the cumulative effects of lots of different virus particles being loaded into developing bodies at once. Some parents groups are arguing for a rethinking of the schedule of standard vaccines, which doesn't seem like a bad precaution until better designed studies can be done.
